This loop trail passes through quiet forest and a few clear cuts, that, ugly as they may be, provide views of Capitol Peak and Larch Mtn. The return journey down Sherman Creek and up Lost Valley Creek goes through lovely second growth forest up the bed of an old logging railroad. Rusty logging implements and scattered dishware attest to the timber harvesting history of the valley. A Discover Pass is required for parking.
