This trail is located I the massive Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest that covers over 1.5 million acres of Wisconsin’s Northwoods. You will circle the scenic Black Lake on easy forest trails and old logging roads. The area is noted for its pine and hemlock hardwood and the trail is mostly a narrow path through these woods, and is nearly always in sight of the lake. There are also nine interpretive stops along the trail indicated by numbered posts.
