Road Biking

This classic leaves from Cable, a town named for the first locomotive engineer to pull a train into town. On this ride you will travel over rolling wooded lanes and around forested glacial potholes. You then continue through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest to discover an old village that has been reincarnated into a great rest stop, with a transformed railroad diner car that makes a great lunch spot. Next, you travel through farm meadows, stands of new timber growth, over the Continental Divide, and along the shoreline of Namekagon Lake. The area is rich with history and very beautiful. The terrain is very hilly with a few major climbs. For a 50 mile ride, head east out of Drummond on U.S. 63 and for a 37 mile ride, turn east on Pioneer Road.
