This hike is a stretch of the Ice Age Trail and is an undiscovered gem. It is a narrow, intimate footpath through quiet woodland with mile after mile of deep woods ambiance. Wildlife is abundant in these woods with wolves raising pups in the area, bald eagles circling over the rivers, otters frolicking in the river and leaving tracks below your feet, and sandhill cranes trumpet across the marshes. Hemlock groves, birch stands, hardwood forests, verdant wetlands, and clear-running streams border the trail. This route is perfect for a long day trip or a backpacking trip.
