Peninsula State Park has a little of everything including hiking and biking trails, beaches, bluffs, a lighthouse, and an easily accessible offshore island for paddlers. Nicolet Beach is a great launching spot as it has a great sand beach and good access to Horseshoe Island. Take caution for powerboaters rounding the corner to come into Eagle Harbor. In the bay on Horseshoe Island there is a cobblestone beach and dock that is a great resting stop for lunch and if weather permits you can circle the island and find great views of the small bluffs on its north side. You can then paddle around Peninsula State Park for a great view of the lighthouse before returning.
