The paved trail offers excellent views of the water as well as quaint residential development along the way. The paved pathway is wide and flat, and has lots of good access areas and resting spots.

The trail leads through heavily forested terrain with high ridges that provide excellent views. The hike can be done as a point-to-point hike by shuttling vehicles between the two trailheads. If shuttling cars is not an option, walking 2.5 miles on the dirt road that connects the two trailheads provides the option of a 10-mile loop.
