Awesome flat water paddle. Great coves to explore some motor boats.

This is a gorgeous hike through DuPont State Forest along the Little River that views four waterfalls. The trail first heads west to Hooker Falls, where there is an observation deck and then continues downhill to a nice sandy beach and swimming hole across from the falls. After retracing your steps, the trail then goes southeast to Triple Falls, a 120 foot waterfall and then to High Falls, a 150 foot waterfall. Triple Falls drops in three sections. High Falls can be viewed from an overlook and is remarkable with a covered bridge at the top. The trail then climbs up and crosses the covered bridge and then continues to a smaller Grassy Creek Falls. DuPont State Forest is a mecca for mountain biking and this trail especially is popular for hiking and biking.

This trail leads to both Whitewater Falls and Laurel Falls, both amazingly over 400 feet waterfalls. The trail leads to an observation deck overlooking Whitewater Falls, said to be the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi River at 411 feet and part of a Natural Heritage Area. From the observation deck, the route leads down old steps on a strenuous decline to the river's edge. There is a footbridge at the base of Laurel Falls, which is a 400 foot waterfall, but only a small portion is visible.

This coastal state park is situated on a 5000-acre barrier island off the South Carolina coastline and offers over 4 miles of pristine beaches for visitors to enjoy. The area also consists of saltwater lagoons, maritime forests, and marshes that are home to lots of wildlife. The state park campground consists of 100 campsites that can accommodate tents and RVs. Sites include electric and water hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits. Additional state park amenities include restrooms, showers, a dump station, camp store, playground, and boat launch. Campsites are $18-$36 per night and can be reserved online up until the day before arrival. There is one rental cabin available in the state park as well for $250 per night.

Huntington Beach State Park is home to over 2500 acres of coastal landscape including sandy beaches, freshwater lagoons, maritime forests, salt marshes and more. The state park includes two campground areas for overnight users to enjoy. The north campground loop includes sites that can accommodate tents and RVs of all sizes. The amenities include electric and water hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits. There are also a few sites with sewer hookups as well. Additional state park amenities include restrooms, showers, a dump station, laundry, store, beach access and more. Cost per site will vary depending on the site selected but ranges between $21-$38 per night. Sites can be reserved online up until the day before arrival.

Riding through the town of Pageland

This section of the Broad River, in the rolling north Georgia foot-hills, is arguably its most popular paddling section. The ride is very scenic. The river’s banks are lined with ash, river birch and beard cane. At different water levels this run offers various challenges. When the water is low the river is very rocky. When the water is high the river’s rapids become more extreme, but most rapids will have less difficult alternate routes if desired. Just be aware of your skill level, and if the water is high and ask an outfitter whether or not the river is runnable. Generally, the largest rapids come near the Highway 172 Bridge; stay left for an easier route. Also, there are fees at the put-in and takeout points.

Considered by many as one of the best mountain hikes in all of South Carolina, this steep trail takes one past several waterfalls initially, then eventually to the summit of Table Rock Mountain, from which you will have an unparalleled view of the surrounding mountains and lakes. Definitely considered a 'must-do' hike by any serious hiker in the region.

This tributary of the Savannah River begins north of Springfield Georgia and offers incredibly scenic paddling adventures. Ebenezer Creek was previously nominated as a state scenic river and this section of the blackwater stream is no exception. Large cypress trees line the banks of the slow moving creek sometimes creating wooded tunnels that enhance the paddling atmosphere. The tidally influenced current is slow enough that this adventure can be taken as an out-and-back. Be aware that at high water the landscape changes drastically, but the creek’s path should still be distinguishable.
