This ride will take you through the amazing Shenandoah Valley. You will encounter a long gradual climb out of the city, which can be challenging for the beginner rider. After you pass the climb, there will be a gradual descent. There will be short stretches of busy streets with heavier traffic throughout the ride. Plan on rolling hills for long stretches.

This is a good route for beginners. The roads are all paved and in good condition. The ride is considered an out and back excursion with the exception of the small loop in Goshen. It is located in what is considered the most scenic part of Virginia. The way home from Goshen is easier than the beginning of a ride.

This ride incorporates a short ferry ride on the oldest continuously operating ferry in the United States. There are several other roads to ride and further explore the beautiful countryside and obtain different water views. The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry is open 7 days a week and runs every 15-20 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to sunset but exact times and dates may vary so check on the schedule before making this trip.

If you like hills you will love this ride. Beginning in Albany you'll travel through woods, farmland, creeks and ponds. The scenery is beautiful year round with spring wildflowers and bright colors during the fall. Traffic is light except in Albany.

The Paint Creek Scenic Trail is a state designated scenic byway. The trail travels on country roads and passes through one of West Virginia's most historic landscapes. This route parallels Paint Creek and offers scenic views of its many waterfalls and rapids. There is a steady hill climb the entire route until the end where there is a steep uphill. This ride can be traveled in either direction. If traveled from Tamarack this is a great easy downhill ride.

All the roads are paved and in good shape. Mostly flat and some rolling hills. The biggest challenge of this ride is the distance. Mostly on rural roads, traffic is slow. On certain stretches the traffic can get busy, be watchful for those parts. A scenic ride for sure, with lake views and farmland. There is lodging for those that would like to make this an overnighter.

This ride is beautiful and easy. Beginners are welcome. During the summer months, you will share the narrow Sandbridge Road with all the tourists at the vacation spot of Sandbridge Beach; it is recommended to avoid high season. You will cruise by many restaurants, small businesses and fresh seafood stands. Midway you will find the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. There are trails for bikes that can handle gravel. At the turning point of the ride, you will find False Cape State Park. Bikes are welcome and the scenery is something you will truly enjoy.

This terrain is some of the most scenic in the state. It makes a loop through Shawnee State Forest. The route begin at Mackletree picnic area and first is narrow and edged by farms, some homes and woodland. It then heads along the Ohio River Scenic Byway where you will get peaks at the river.
