Sutton Lake is a beautiful and clear lake located on the Elk River in Braxton County. This lake covers 1440 acres and offers 40 miles of shore line. The deepest section of the lake is at the dam which is 125 feet deep. The lake was built by the Army Corps of Engineers Flood Control and Water Quality Project for flood control of the Elk, Kanawha and Ohio Rivers. The lake is surrounded by beautiful wooded forests with no commercial development. This boat ramp is located in the Bee Run Recreation Area. It features a beach, showers, bathrooms, picnic areas and pavilions.
