This trip begins at the South Sauty Creek Store boat launch, along South Sauty Road at Lake Guntersville. From here this trip takes you across the open waters of northeast Lake Guntersville and then up to Morgans Cove launch site. Enjoy exploring the many side sloughs on your way back to the South Sauty Creek Store boat launch where this trips ends.

This trip on Lake Guntersville begins at the boat launch site along Alabama 227 at the end of the bridge entering into Lake Guntersville State Park. From here travel to the southeast end of the Lake to the mouth of Short Creek and then further up stream. The Creek is wide at the mouth but quickly narrows, creating a popular area for fishermen and paddlers in kayaks and canoes. To end this trip travel down Short Creek back into Lake Guntersville and back to the boat launch along Alabama 227. The Short Creek area is known to be a hot spot for viewing bald eagles, which are most common during the winter months.

This trip located inside Lake Guntersville State Park begins from the Town Creek Fishing Center boat launch/access point along Alabama 227. From here you will paddle north towards the mouth of Town Creek. Once Reaching the lower section of Town Creek the path narrows through a heavily forested area as you continue your paddle up stream. Return to the Town Creek Fishing Center boat launch/access point to end your trip.

Located in Preston, Alabama along AL 79/Scottsboro highway, this trip begins from the Opposite Mile Boat Ramp. From here paddle through this slightly developed inlet of Lake Guntersville and out into the main larger body of water. Go along the banks of Preston Island before reaching Boshart Creek (another inlet of Lake Guntersville). Paddle into Boshart Creek enjoying this less developed section of lake guntersville with great views. Continue to a small local boat launch site at the end of McDonald Drive Road. Treat this as a one-way trip or an out-and-back (shown here). Be sure to bring your fishing gear as Lake Guntersville is a popular destination for Kayak Fishing.

This trip on Lake Guntersville begins at the Claysville Boat Dock located at Marshall County Park. Travels around various islands as you head towards Conners Island, before heading in a clockwise direction back to the Claysville Boat Dock. Allow more time to explore the small islands in this area. Various routes are possible in this area.

This section of South Sauty Creek begins at Morgan’s Cove boat launch. Enjoy the scenery as you paddle upstream towards Buck’s Pocket State Park. Some portage may be required around rock sections in low water levels. End this trip back at Morgan’s Cove. There is a primitive campground location along the right side of the creek as you travel upstream, if desired this could possibly be a great short overnight trip.

Part of Lake Guntersville, this easy paddle trip is great for beginners new to paddling. The put in is located at the Honeycomb Creek Boat Ramp just before the bridge along Florida Short Route Road. From here paddle east up Powell Mill Hollow to Honeycomb Spring and then back to the boat ramp from the opposite side of the creek taking in further views.

Nestled along the banks of Lake Guntersville and the Tennessee River, this region of Lake Guntersville in northeastern Alabama, can be accessed from the Goose Pond Campground boat launch site. This launch site is located along the campsites, but there is also a Marina located further up the road. This region offers multiple inlets, coves and islands to explore along with a golf course, camp sites and lakeside cabins for rent at Goose Pond Campground. Many other amenities and recreational activities are within the area as well.

This section of Town Creek begins right at High Falls which is a Class V and can be ran with proper water levels, although some decide to begin just after the falls along the right side of the creek. From here you will encounter many Class III rapids through a heavily forested area with cliff ledges above. Two-thirds down this route you come across a blockage which is also a Class V and is only done by highly experienced kayakers. This blockage can be portaged (not shown here). Following the blockage, you will encounter more Class 3 rapids until reaching closer to Lake Guntersville as the creek widens and slows drastically turning into Lake Guntersville. The take out for this trip is located at the Town Creek Fishing Center boat launch/access point along Alabama 227. The flow ranges from 250 to 2000 cfs, with an average gradient of 44 fpm.
