This is a great day trip located on Weiss Lake. Begin at the AL 36 bridge crossing over the Chatooga River. Put in underneath the bridge and begin your paddle to the Driftwood Campground. Start off by paddling along the Chatooga River before reaching Weiss Lake. Passing multiple beaches along the way, you have the option of stopping to rest and have a nice lunch break before continuing on. Stop off at Hog Island, one of the largest islands on the lake. and enjoy the view before finishing your day trip at Driftwood Campground. Camping is available along the lake, which can turn this into a multi-day trip if desired.

Located along the border of Alabama and Georgia, Walter F. George Reservoir, also known as Lake Eufaula, is a 46,000 acre lake created on the Chattahoochee River. Camping, paddling, Swimming and fishing are popular activities along the lake. This particular trip begins from Thomas Mill Creek Park boat ramp located just off Henry County Road 97. From here travel south east across the open waters of the reservoir to Cotton Hill Public Use Area which is located on the Georgia side of the reservoir. Along your route you will have the opportunity to pass a few islands before reaching Cotton Hill. Birding is possible throughout this area with Osprey nesting sights in view. There is also a sandy beach area located at Cotton Hill Park, use this as your take-out, or travel a little further to the parks boat ramp (shown here). You also have the option of traveling to Sandy Creek or George T. Bagby State Park located near by.

This large 10,000-acre freshwater reservoir located on the Ochlockonee River offers paddlers plenty of shoreline for paddling and wildlife viewing just west of the busy metropolis of Tallahassee. A state park located on the south side of the lake offers easy access to the water as well as picnic areas, fishing piers, and hiking trails. This paddling trip starts from the state park access and follows the shoreline to the east but paddlers can explore many miles of shoreline and open waters in all directions from the state park launch or other public access sites located around the lake.

Call White Oak Creek Recreation Area (334-687-3101) for camping reservations if camping is desired at the end or your trip.
